Values

Values we live by every day and try to teach our children are: tolerance, openness to the world, responsibility, cooperation, honesty and respect for other people, nature and work.

Relations are particularly important at Lalilu. We establish them through close and authentic contact – with attention and care we sense the feelings and needs of the children. We stand by them with empathy as they discover the world. Our communication is based on the principles of Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication.

Children at Lalilu play and work in an atmosphere of understanding and cooperation. On daily basis we try to smartly encourage children to cooperate with each other. Thanks to that the children at Lalilu establish a sense of self-worth, develop independence, self-confidence and the ability to cooperate. This will help them in the future to build relations based on love, understanding, trust, mutual appreciation and respect.

We also want for our children to become socially sensitive adults in the future. Already now we make them aware why we should and why it is worth to help those in need. Every year we organize a charity at Lalilu, with the involvement of both children and their parents.

We instil in the children the interest and openness to other cultures, customs and traditions – we show the children that diversity of the world is its greatest value. We do not avoid difficult questions, we provoke discussion and talk about diversity. We break stereotypes for instance those connected with gender or age.

We also shape ecological attitude in our children, by expanding empathy for the world of animals and plants. The children at Lalilu feel that we are all a part of the nature and it is not indifferent to us.

As an organization, we are an egalitarian place, focused on the individual, where we respect dissimilarities, appreciate own initiatives and give every team member a large dose of autonomy and space to implement own ideas. Lack of fixed hierarchy and democratic relations between adults are reflected in the children’s freedom to act, as every day they can observe positive effects of a world organized in such way.
